Living Water

Have you ever felt like the life you were living was like being on a desolate tract of a scortching hot desert?  Have you ever felt so parched from life's trials, you feel like you are perishing from thirst?  Sometimes life can be filled with allusions, similar to those we experience while lost in a desert storm when it comes to our ability to reason and surrender our free will to the will of God's will for our lives.  

In the Gospel of St. John 7:37-38, Jesus says "On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and exclaimed, "Let anyone who thirsts come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as scripture says: 'Rivers of living water will flow from within him.'"

Jesus is calling you to the living water of Baptism where you receive the Holy Spirit in the waters of rebirth.  Wells of living water, the Holy Spirit living within you for all eternity.  Acceptance of God's will and dying to our own self will we have hope in the Living God's promise for eternal salvation won by the blood of Jesus Christ. 

Are you thirsty?  Is Jesus' inviting you to the spings of living water? Then accept His call and say yes to know God, love God and serve God.  Believe in Jesus and the rivers of living water will flow from within you and you will never thirst again.  I invite you to come home to the Catholic Church.  Inquire about RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) by calling your parish office for more details.
